Express Yourself

I was so impressed how Pastor actually came to our house to visit and get to know our family. I felt like that was so special. - Shelly Crane

Visiting a church for worship for the first time can be awkward.  What is the service like?  What do most people wear?  Will they do something that makes me feel uncomfortable?

What Can I Expect At Christ Lutheran?

Communion Service

At Christ Lutheran, You can expect the following:

  • A warm welcoming greeting, yet you can be as anonymous as you like
  • Casual dress alongside those who like to dress up
  • Traditional Lutheran Worship with familiar hymns (All projected on overhead screen)
  • Choir Anthem
  • Children's Message
  • Gospel Reading
  • Pastor's Sermon
  • Communion
      • All baptized believers are welcome to receive Communion
      • Bread & WineLutherans believe Holy Communion is the reception of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ given with bread and wine, instituted by Christ Himself for us to eat and drink.  As Martin Luther said, "Anyone who has faith in the words of Christ, 'given (shed) for you for the forgiveness of sin' is really worthy and well prepared to receive."

    What About Children?

Children are welcome to worship with their parents.   For the Children's Message, the kids are invited to come and sit in the front row or on the steps to hear the message.  After the Children's Message, Children are dismissed for Sunday School and will return to receive communion or a blessing with their Families.  Then they are invited to return to Sunday School to finish projects or to continue worship with their family.

    What Happens After the Service?

Coffee HourImmediately after the service all members and visitors are welcomed to join us for coffee, a variety of goodies, and fellowship just about every Sunday.  This is an informal setting buffet style then you may sit anywhere you like.
